Digital & Print Submissions
Digital File Submission Guidelines for the Surrey Photography Club
Submission deadline is the Sunday night before our meeting night.
To insure that your digital images conform to standard please follow these directions:
- Set your working space to the sRGB standard. In Photoshop, go to the Edit/colour setting. Be sure your monitor is calibrated. We will not make colour corrections or other adjustments to the submitted digital files.
- In Photoshop, go to Image/image size.
- Size your image to 1024 X 768 pixels.
- Check the constrain proportions and leave the resample box unchecked.
- For a horizontal image, set pixels dimensions width only to 1024. The height will adjust automatically.
- For a vertical or square image, set pixels dimensions height only to 768. The width will adjust automatically.
- Click OK. (Do not be concerned about document size, resolution, or file size. Do not change the resolution to 72.)
Now you can sharpen your image suitable for digital projection. Do not over-sharpen. Do not save as jpg files during editing as image quality will be lost. Save as a jpg file once and only after all changes have been made.
Do not put any copyright information or any text on the image.
Name your file the title of your photo and your name as in shark_attack_Joe_Brown.jpg Use underscore to separate words. Do not zip files, just send as a jpg.
“Please limit you submissions to 3 images per evening.”
Email the images as file attachments to:
and use the subject line DIGITAL FILES.
